Cadets Take to the Skies

Cadets Take to the Skies

On Saturday 24 June, four cadets and one officer from the Corps’ RAF Section went to RAF Kenley for Air Experience Gliding (AEG). AEG offers the cadets a chance to put into practice some of the knowledge they have gained during the year and to experience gliding. Once safety briefings and practices were out of the way, cadets were able to complete a flight in a glider accompanied by an experienced pilot. As well as the thrill of being up in the air, this trip had an added bonus: as RAF Kenley is so local, the cadets were familiar with the scenes they were looking down on – with some being able to see their houses and even Home Field, looking beautiful in the sunshine far below them.
