Clean Water Changes Lives

 Clean Water Changes Lives

A shared project between Caterham School and Chartwells has resulted in a clean water well for Bila Kuppam Village, Tamil Nadu. The well provides clean water for 821 people and is the happy result of pupils and staff purchasing ‘Life Water’ in the Concourse Café.  The well is a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and a 2000 Litres Overhead Tank.

At the official well opening, village resident M.Devaki, reflected on a moment of positive change for the community: “The new water project in our village is a real astonishment as we never even imagined that such a facility would be available to us. We had been longing to see such a facility and now our dreams have come true our children have been relieved from bringing the water on their foreheads and they are finding lots of time to spend on their studies and we are also relieved from tension and are able to pay attention on other works of our home. We are really very thankful to for the support you have made possible in our village. We are getting the required water and our children are able to take bath regularly and wash their hands.”
