PA Quiz Night

PA Quiz Night

Last Saturday, 94 parents and staff in 10 teams attempted to win the coveted PA Quiz Night Trophies and Wine first prize, or the honourable last place, complete with wooden spoons, in an evening of questions, music and pictures, held for the first time in the Wilberforce Hall. During the supper break, Salisbury’s of Whyteleafe served their deliciously tasty fish, chicken or veg burger and chips and before the second half of questions, a game of ‘Heads & Tails’ was played, with the last person standing winning a bottle of bubbly.

Each table was allocated a ‘quiz host’ from a TV quiz. There were 128 questions, some in table rounds and picture rounds, with the final scores ranging from 67.5 to 105 points. The winners were ‘Team 1 – Sue Barker’ beating second place ‘Team 6 – Davina McCall’ by ½ a point, the wooden spoon winners were ‘Team 3 – Anne Robinson’. Well done everyone!

The excellent quiz, together with bar sales, raised in excess of £1,000 for the PA Charities. Many, many thanks to Stuart Terrell, our quizmaster, and all those who organised this event and we hope for even more quizzers next year.

The questions ranged from What is the name of the robot dog in the Wallace and Gromit film “A Close Shave”? to ‘`Daily Wine Deals` is an anagram of which famous actor?’ Scroll down for the answers under the photo gallery
