Magical Musicals
The Musical Theatre Evening was delivered live via Zoom, and our pupils performed from school with one of our three accompanists to family and friends. After a year of pre-recorded events due to Covid restrictions, being able to have this live element to the evening gave both pupils and families a huge lift, and there was a real sense of joy to the event. Maintaining bubbles and social distancing rules in fact made the evening even more special, as we had seven different venues in which the pupils performed, which added an extra sense of fun for both the audience and those of us participating!
We enjoyed 24 performances from across the senior school during the course of the concert, with an impressive range of repertoire and talent. Highlights included Will C (First Year) opening the evening with an engaging performance of ‘Naughty’ from Matilda; Tanaiya P (Second Year) with her beautiful rendition of ‘Almost There’ from Princess and the Frog; Elise B (Third Year) with her heart-warming performance of ‘There are Worse Things I Could Do’ from Grease; Zandile A-N (Fourth Year) with her stunning version of ‘The Winner Takes It All’ from Mamma Mia. Our senior pupils really impressed with wonderful versions of numbers from Cabaret, The Last Five Years, Six, Funny Girl and Ghost to name but a few.
A huge congratulations to all who took part in an exceptional and joyful evening.
