Creative Careers

The next careers evening ‘Creative Careers’ will include presentations from Mrs Rachel Veldtman, Faculty Leader of Visual Arts and Lindsey Pressdee, the designer and course leader of the new Fashion Business and Communications degree at Birmingham City University. Together they will be talking through the myriad of choices open to students and how creative skills are vital to the workforce of the future. The careers covered are wide ranging and include Design Engineering(Dyson), PR, Film Studies and Production, Digital/Social Media, Advertising, Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Costume/Fashion Design and Art Conservation and Research.

Please can I encourage all students to attend, as often these career paths are not defined by A Level subject or degree choice. For example, the Graphic Designer attending studied Sociology and Criminology at university, and the OC representing PR gained a degree in History. The aim of the evening is to open up the wealth of career opportunities available, with the hope of inspiring a new generation of creative thinkers!
