ETS Impress at St Christopher’s Festival, Epsom

ETS performed superbly at St Christopher’s Festival and were admired by all of the other children from selected schools in Surrey and South London. The special guest conductor was the choral composer, Bob Chilcott. He was most impressed by their performances and commented on their precise and beautiful singing. Bob Chilcott’s music is well known by ETS singers, in particular his beautiful Peace Mass that they performed in Belgium and his Jubilate. It was a great opportunity for ETS to work with such a well-respected choral composer. Solo pieces from ETS included Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine which was sung to perfection. ETS then provided harmonies and descents in the massed choral items which included Bob Chilcott’s anthem, Can You Hear Me?. This moving piece is unique as it employs sign language. The festival concert was attended by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell as well as a huge audience. It was lovely to receive such warm and sincere comments from many people who commended ETS on their performances. Congratulations to ETS on another fantastic performance.
