British Physics Olympiad Junior Challenge Success

Congratulations to all 45 Third and Fourth Years who recently took part in the Junior Physics Challenge, run by the British Physics Olympiad and the University of Oxford.

Competing with over 6100 students from across the country, Caterham Physicists earned a huge crop of awards. Special mention must go to Fourth Year pupils Lisa H, Helen Y and Jasper M for their Gold Awards, placing them in the top 15 per cent nationally. A further 11 Silver Awards and 31 Bronze Awards were achieved by pupils in both year groups. Particular congratulations to the 34 Third Year pupils who, despite taking on challenging questions aimed largely at Fourth Year level, came away with a fantastic haul of Silver and Bronze certificates. Silver Award winners in the Fourth Year were Sophie H, Hailey C, Winston T, Caiden H, Isabella Q and Sebastien Q-E. Third year Silver Award winners were Katrina D, Kayla A, Alex W, Isla M and Luca T. A big well done to all who took part.
