Economics Competition Spotlights Inequalities

The annual Economics Essay competition once again saw our Upper Sixth Form pupils push the boundaries of Economic understanding and learn new academic skills which will be invaluable beyond A Level. Some of the judges’ favourite essays came from Oliver B, Antonia and Andrew as they deftly explored topics such as Negative Interest Rates, The Success of the Euro and Crypto-currencies. However, it was Julianne’s essay, “Assess the impact of Covid-19 on existing inequalities” which clinched the overall title.

The judges were gripped by her piece and very impressed by how she balanced a range of economic theory with many well-referenced sources to create an engaging, persuasive and very current piece – well done Julianne! Congratulations to everyone for taking part and keep an eye out for some featured essays in the annual Preview magazine later this year!
