Fleur Wins Arkwright Scholarship
The Design Technology department is delighted to announce that Fleur Masters has been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Scholarship, following her application and success in the rigorous selection process earlier in the year. Due to the current pandemic Fleur’s achievement is particularly pleasing as under normal conditions they award 400+ scholarships, this year they have only managed to award half the usual number because of a reduction in funding as a direct result of the current pandemic.
The Scholarship is with De Puy Synthes UK who are part of the Johnson and Johnson group. They are involved with developing products to help people with medical needs for example orthopaedics and joint reconstruction. Fleur will now have access to engineering connect days with the Arkwright Foundation, a mentor from De Puy Synthes to help her with her career development aspirations and design development and a bursary to spend on scholarship related expenses; well done Fleur.
