GERRY RUDDOCK VISITS

GERRY RUDDOCK VISITS

The music department are delighted to announce that Mr Gerry Ruddock will be adjudicating Caterham School’s House Music competition this February.

Gerry Ruddock is one of the UK’s leading trumpeters. He spent 17 years with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a further 20 years with the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO). Some highlights of his vast musical career include performing in the soundtracks for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Superman and Mad Max. He also performed at the 2012 Olympic Games, for the Pope at the Vatican and for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. On top of this he appears in a vast number of critically acclaimed recordings which have sold worldwide. We are extremely fortunate to have Gerry on our team of Visiting Music Teachers. We are particularly excited that our pupils will have the opportunity to both perform to such a renowned performer as well as receiving feedback from him.

House Music has been changed slightly from previous years; each house will present a solo vocalist, a solo instrumentalist as well as an ensemble.

The competition is on Monday 10 February, 4.00- 6.30pm and will be held in the Wilberforce Hall. Pupils, staff, family and friends are all invited to attend.
