Revolting Rhymes, a Virtual Dahlight!

Revolting Rhymes, a Virtual Dahlight!

Was lockdown going to stop 60 pupils from across the First, Second and Third Years performing their hearts out over zoom? Of course it wasn’t! And what a dahliciously varied selection of Revolting Rhymes and classic Roald Dahl monologues there were. From Miss Trunchball to Willie Wonka, members of the Third Year took on some of Dahl’s iconic characters, with Krish in the First Year ably leaping into the guise of the great writer himself, introducing and reflecting on each of the performances with wit and humour. Due to the original nature of form bubbles, there were two casts, enabling all pupils interested to take part and giving many the chance to multi role and really show off their performance skills. Pupils had to really step up to the challenge of turning the revolting rhyme plays virtual by supplying their own, often wonderfully inventive, costumes and creating their own props; from a magic mirror to an edible cake heart! Virtual backgrounds provided the finishing touch in helping transport the virtual audience into the world of ruthless wolves, scared pigs and feisty girls! With some wonderful performances and a great cast effort, all pupils can be tremendously proud of their achievements. And if you haven’t yet had a chance to watch, you can still enjoy a free evening of theatrical joy here
