Thursday saw pupils from the First, Second, Third and Fourth Year sport their house tops and take to the impressively manicured greenery of Homefield for the 2021 Sports Day.

Very little could dampen house spirit in this rapturous affair, with pupil supporters held in bubbles encircled by the track providing an abundance of applause and encouragement.

Their cheers didn’t fall on deaf ears as some immensely impressive performances were displayed for all to see.

The impressive Estee N winning the Junior Girls 800m, Shot put and High Jump narrowly missing out on a clean sweep of sports day records (1cm in the Shotput, 4cms in the High Jump). Not to be outdone, the unbeaten Ava W recorded an impressive 28.63s for the Junior Girls 200m and also won her Discus by a considerable distance.

The Inter Girls competition saw an impressive leap in the Long Jump of 4.52m by Phoebe P-S, a Triple Jump victory from Megan S with 9.32 and a win for Harriet L in the Discus by a margin of 6 metres!

On the track dominant performances by Lilly W’s 300m in 48.50s and Genevieve’s 1500m in 5.17s narrowly missed out on Sports Day records. With Isabelle Y contesting the top spots.

The star of the day was Ella P in the 800m with a time of 2:37.71 taking the Sports Day and School Record! A brilliant achievement. Well done Ella!

In the Junior Boys section standout performances came in the form of Ryen who won the 300m by 9s claiming himself a Sports Day and School record in the process. Well done Ryen! Edwin K winning the 800m and Arthur P winning the 1500m and Bradley B winning the 200m and Triple Jump.

Victories for everyone named Will on the track for the Inter Boys section! Will O in the hurdles, Will T in the 200m and Will L in the 400m! All showing what you can do if you train to the maximum of your ability, every session. Alex S and Ben W shone in the longer events.

Another school record tumbled when Freddie A entered the discus circle, building on his impressive victory last weekend at Epsom where he competed in the U17 category taking victory! This week with a huge throw of 30.90m. Well done Freddie!
