Supporting Local Primary Schools

Our Sixth Form and teachers have embarked on a significant partnership with local primary schools, contributing to the ‘catch up’ agenda post lock dow. The partnership work enriches the curriculum, and helps pupils learning as they go. Having gained some experience within our own Prep School and with ongoing training with Ms Hookway, Ms Hurton and Ms Stone,a group of our brilliant Upper Sixth pupils have been busy visiting local school Furzefield Primary this half term. The Upper Sixth pupils have worked with a Year 5 class, reading ‘The Nowhere Emporium’ and discussing key moments in each chapter. The Year 5 pupils at Furzefield have given our Upper Sixth Form readers rave reviews and can’t wait for them to visit again after half term!’

Meanwhile, another Furzefield class has been coming to Caterham for science lessons with Mr Tyldesley and a second Sixth Form team, making use of our fabulous resources, building openness and passion for science.
