The Business of Influencers

The Business of Influencers

Our Upper Sixth Form pupils spent the summer bettering their understanding of the fast-changing pressures facing firms around the world with our annual Business Essay Competition. This allowed them to deep-dive into topics such as Business Ethics, changing Retail, the impact of Covid-19 and Maslow’s Theory of Motivation. No matter the title chosen, it was clear that all had improved their ability to apply business theory to practical examples whilst also balancing the use of a wide range of sources and there was a superb confidence in pupils’ ability to work beyond the limitations of the A Level syllabus.

Worthy runners up include Abbie, Dan, David and Vicki, but the fantastic winning entry came from Hannah. Her essay exploring the appeal of ‘Influencers’ did a brilliant job of considering the efficacy of this form of promotion for Businesses today. By carrying out her own surveys Hannah was able to enrich her research and the resulting piece was thought-provoking and very relevant – well done indeed!

Congratulations to everyone who took part and keep an eye out for some featured essays in the annual Preview magazine later this year!
