Opportunity to Learn Endangered Instruments

The Music Department continue to promote ‘endangered’ musical instruments through a series of workshops and demonstrations by our Visiting Music Teachers. Pupils will enjoy the opportunity to see these instruments ‘in action’. Endangered instruments are those instruments that typically in a school setting, have the fewest number of pupils. These include: bassoon, tuba, french horn, double bass, harp and saxophone. These instruments are extremely versatile and can be played in many styles of music- classical, film, pop and jazz.

If your child has expressed an interest in learning an instrument, please contact our Head of Instrumental Music, Mr Brian Hill in the Music Department ([email protected]). We are always excited and delighted to welcome new musicians and especially those taking on the challenge of one of the endangered instruments. The sign-up form is online here
