The Caterham School Debating Society was established in 1892 and has continued through peace and war ever since.
The Society is run by students under the nurturing eye of the Vice President, whose sage counsel enables the students to progress their debating talents through the year.
Debating is probably the most useful of all co-curricular activities, equipping students for a world in which the winners are not necessarily those with the right arguments but those who are most persuasive. The intellectual rigour of debate combines with much humour to produce some of the most entertaining moments in a student’s term.
Senior Debating is open to the Sixth Form and the Fifth Year.
